For Teachers

Field trips to the museum and classroom visits by museum staff are available. All programs are designed to correspond with Iowa Core standards. Museum staff are also happy to work with teachers to determine ways that museum collections may supplement or enhance a particular unit or area of study. Teachers are encouraged to reach out for additional information on programs available and to sign-up to receive periodic e-mails filled with relevant news, upcoming events and programs.

The cost of a field trip to the museum is $1 per student. Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area offers bus grants to fund the cost of transportation to and from sites within the Heritage Area, including the museum.
